From Russia with love
During the 19th and 20th centuries, Russia suffered from a series of both internal and external conflicts and revolutions causing great changes in Russian society. Nevertheless, the national culture bloomed, initially under the influence of romanticism, and Russian composers and authors became world-renowned. To this day, many of their works are still performed and read all around the world.
In collaboration with dr.theol.Christian Gottlieb, who specialises in Russian religious and intellectual history, we will take you on a historical and musical journey to revisit a number of Russian composers and authors in the period 1830-1940.
